Who is Jesus?

Hello

We will use these pages to point you to Christ Jesus so that you understand who He is. We want you to have a living and satisfying relationship with Jesus and experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit of God in your own personal life, You can live a victorious life when you repent of your sins and receive Jesus Christ into your heart and life.

God created you - male and female - Jesus and the Holy Spirit participated in your creation.

Genesis 1:26 (NKJV) Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them"

Jesus loves you

John 3:16-18:  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God”.

Jesus is also known as the Word

John 1:1-4 (NKJV): “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it”.

God created you by His will and for His purpose

Revelation 4:11(b): “..For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created”

God is Perfect in Love and ALSO in Justice and Judgement

Romans 5:8:  “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”

Psalms 37:27-28: “Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell forevermore. 28 For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.

Isaiah 13:11:  “I will punish the world for its evil, And the wicked for their iniquity .."

Numbers 14:18:  "The Lord is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty.."

The scriptures say we were all born in sin and that repentance (ie being sorry for and turning away from sin) is necessary for salvation (ie redemption from eternal death and separation from God)

Luke 5: 31-32: “Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Romans 3:23: “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

Acts 3:19:  “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

What is sin?

1 John 3:4 (AMP) “Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness [ignoring God’s law by action or neglect or by tolerating wrongdoing—being unrestrained by His commands and His will]”.

We sin when we disobey God. Sin involves rebellion against God; it is like a plague, with salvation as the cure.

What is repentance?

To repent is to change direction from following your own way, to following God’s way.

2 Corinthians 7:9: “Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance”

Acts 3:19: “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord”

What must I do to be saved?

Repent from and confess your sins; believe in Jesus and what He did for you on the cross.

Romans 10:9:  “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”

How am I saved?

Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast”

Your faith in the LORD Jesus brings salvation by God’s grace – you cannot earn salvation by the works that you do.

What does being saved mean?

1 Thessalonians 1:10: “and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come”

To be saved is when you live by faith, trusting in Jesus Christ, resulting in Him delivering you from God’s judgement of eternal death, which is God’s penalty for those who choose to live in sin.

What does it mean to be justified?

Romans 5:1:  “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”

Being justified is where God declares a person to be righteous, just as if they had never sinned – the person is acquitted with a legal declaration by God the Righteous Judge.
